Grailhold is a persistent, online tabletop role-playing game set on the continent of Matros, where players take on the role of adventurers working to reclaim their ancestral lands after a devastating catastrophe. The world has been corrupted, and hostile creatures now inhabit its forests, rivers, and caves. Through exploration and cooperative settlement building, players gradually restore access to the land and move closer to uncovering the source of the corruption.
Grailhold is a shared world. What players create, destroy, and discover are recorded and established in the world. Some objectives will require coordination by many players to accomplish, which may be conducted in the game chat or on the discord. It's up to you to decide how you want to exist in Matros, but remember that you are not dealing with NPCs anymore, you exist in a world full of other Player Characters.
Grailhold uses the GM-less Grail System, a lightweight dice-pool ruleset designed to be easy to learn while encouraging players to collaboratively describe the unfolding narrative. The Grail System is for players who want to tell a great story, not be told a great story by a Game Master. Game sessions, known as excursions, function as self-contained one-shots and allow a session to contain any combination of players. Excursions may be taken solo, or played with up to 6 players. Grailhold combines the social storytelling of traditional tabletop RPGs with the accessibility and persistence of an online world.
